About the Role
Spirit Energy is looking for an experienced Asset Integrity Authority to join their HSE and Assurance team, based in Barrow-in-Furness.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced asset integrity professional to play a key role in supporting the safe, reliable and compliant operation of Spirit Energy's assets.
The successful candidate will join the organisation as part of a new organisational structure, which is due to go live from 1 October 2026. The contract is expected to run for two years, aligning with the planned cessation of production at the Morecambe Hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist asset integrity advice, guidance and assurance across the organisation.
- Support the effective management of asset integrity risks and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
- Ensure asset integrity activities are aligned with relevant legislation, regulations, industry standards and company requirements.
- Provide technical input and assurance across asset integrity management activities.
- Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of asset integrity strategies and plans.
- Monitor asset integrity performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Review and provide assurance on inspection, maintenance and integrity management programmes.
- Support the identification and management of risks associated with ageing assets and equipment.
- Work closely with engineering, operations, maintenance and HSE teams to ensure asset integrity risks are effectively managed.
- Provide assurance that assets remain fit for purpose throughout their operational lifecycle.
- Contribute to audits, reviews, inspections and assurance activities as required.
- Support the investigation and resolution of asset integrity issues and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience working in an Asset Integrity, Asset Integrity Authority, Integrity Engineering or similar role.
- Experience within the oil and gas, energy or process industries.
- Strong knowledge of asset integrity management principles and practices.
- Experience managing the integrity of operational assets and equipment.
- Understanding of inspection, maintenance and integrity assurance processes.
- Experience working with ageing assets and managing associated integrity risks.
- Knowledge of relevant UK legislation, industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- The ability to work collaboratively across engineering, operations, maintenance and HSE functions.
- Relevant technical or professional qualifications within asset integrity, engineering or a related discipline.
Working Arrangements
Spirit Energy currently operates a non-contractual hybrid working arrangement for office-based workers.
The role requires four days per week to be worked from the Barrow-in-Furness office.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are compulsory office days, with the fourth office day being either Monday or Friday, depending on individual preference and what is most effective for the team.
The office is open five days per week for those who prefer to work fully office-based.
