Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking an experienced Asset Surveyor to join their team, initially supporting their education sector portfolio.
This is a field-based role, ideal for someone who enjoys working on site, travelling between locations, and delivering accurate asset surveys that support effective asset management.
The Role
Travelling to sites across the Midlands and North of England, you'll be responsible for surveying and verifying building assets, capturing accurate condition and asset data to support asset management systems.
Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a company van provided, you'll primarily survey mechanical and electrical (M&E), plumbing, and catering assets, working closely with site teams to ensure asset records remain accurate and up to date.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow the planned survey schedule, completing asset verification across allocated sites.
- Carry out asset condition surveys, capturing accurate asset data in line with asset management system requirements.
- Assess asset condition, residual life, criticality, defects, and statutory compliance.
- Maintain accurate asset records and documentation using asset management systems and Excel.
- Liaise with site stakeholders to validate asset information and ensure data consistency.
- Produce survey reports, dashboards, and other agreed project documentation.
- Identify and escalate high-risk or statutory compliance issues promptly.
- Support the development of estate strategies through the provision of accurate asset data and survey insights.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Demonstrable experience surveying M&E (Building Services) and/or Building Fabric assets across large, complex estates.
- Strong understanding of asset condition assessments, asset management systems, and maintenance forecasting.
- Experience carrying out asset surveys and due diligence activities.
- Confidence in completing asset data collection templates with a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of property, facilities management, statutory compliance, and sustainability practices.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and report-writing ability.
- A full UK driving licence (a company van is provided).
