About Them:

An established and growing construction consultancy in West London is looking to appoint an ambitious Graduate/ Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its London team.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a supportive consultancy environment, working alongside the Company Director on a broad range of high-quality projects across London and the South East. You will gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, from early feasibility through to final account, whilst working towards chartership if not already achieved.

The consultancy delivers projects across the residential, education, commercial and hospitality sectors, including high-end residential developments, schools, commercial fit outs and refurbishment schemes. Typical project values range from several hundred thousand pounds to over £30 million.

Responsibilities:


Working closely with senior members of the team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with cost planning and preparing estimates throughout the design process
  • Producing Bills of Quantities and tender documentation
  • Supporting procurement and tender analysis
  • Preparing cost reports and financial statements
  • Assisting with interim valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Attending client, design team and site meetings
  • Carrying out measurements and cost analysis
  • Supporting contract administration under JCT and NEC contracts
  • Helping deliver projects from feasibility through to completion
  • Developing strong client relationships whilst providing a high level of professional service.

You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio including:

  • High-end residential refurbishments and new build homes

  • Mixed-use developments

Project values typically range from approximately £500k to £30m+, with exposure to both refurbishment and new build commissions across a variety of sectors.

You'll ideally have:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
  • Around 1 to 3 years' QS experience
  • Good understanding of construction technology and cost management principles
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • An ambition to achieve MRICS (or already working towards APC)
