💷 Rate: £300–£350 per day (DOE)

BCS Connect is currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established civil engineering contractor on a long-term freelance basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on major civil engineering and groundworks projects, supporting the commercial team while gaining exposure to a varied and challenging workload.

The Role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in supporting the commercial management of projects, ensuring costs are controlled and commercial objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the commercial management of civil engineering and groundworks projects.
• Preparing and managing project costings.
• Supporting the administration and agreement of compensation events.
• Assisting with change management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitoring project costs and reporting on commercial performance.
• Preparing valuations and assisting with subcontractor payments.
• Working closely with site and commercial teams to ensure projects remain commercially successful.
• Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation.
• Requirements
• Previous experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
• Strong background within civil engineering and groundworks.
• Proven experience with costings, compensation events, and change management.
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively within a project team.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
