Assistant Quantity Surveyor

EA Associates are working with an established interiors subcontractor based in Chelmsford that is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.

The business delivers commercial interior packages across London and the surrounding areas, working with a number of recognised main contractors. With a healthy pipeline of secured work, they are looking for someone to join their commercial team and support the delivery of projects from initial handover through to final account.

The Role

• Supporting the commercial management of interior packages
• Assisting with valuations, variations and final accounts
• Preparing subcontractor enquiries and comparisons
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender information
• Monitoring project costs and assisting with commercial reporting
• Attending site meetings and carrying out site visits
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors and the wider project team
• Supporting the Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager across multiple projects

The Candidate

• Previous experience in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Trainee Quantity Surveyor position
• Experience within interiors, fit-out, drylining, ceilings or another subcontracting environment would be beneficial
• A relevant construction or Quantity Surveying qualification
• Commercially aware with good attention to detail
• Confident communicating with clients, subcontractors and site teams
• Based within a reasonable commute of Chelmsford
• Keen to progress and take on greater commercial responsibility
