Location: Wolverhampton / Stoke-on-Trent (Travel between both locations required)
Salary: Up to £37,500 + Excellent Package

Are you an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with around 1–2 years' post-degree experience looking to take the next step in your career?

The Role

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll support the commercial team in the successful financial management of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.

You'll work closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers, gaining valuable experience across all aspects of quantity surveying while taking on increasing responsibility as your career progresses.

Projects are based across the Midlands, so you'll need to be happy travelling to both Wolverhampton and Stoke-on-Trent as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the commercial management of construction projects.
  • Support the preparation of valuations, cost reports and final accounts.
  • Assist in procuring and managing subcontractor packages.
  • Monitor project costs and help identify opportunities for value engineering.
  • Prepare and review subcontractor payments.
  • Support contract administration and commercial reporting.
  • Build strong working relationships with site teams, clients and subcontractors.

About You

You'll ideally have:

  • A Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Around 1–2 years' post-degree experience working for a main contractor.
  • A good understanding of commercial processes within the construction industry.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive attitude and a genuine desire to develop your career.
  • A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel to projects in Wolverhampton and Stoke-on-Trent.
