Pay Rate: £45.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Hours: 37 hours per week | Hybrid Working

About the Role
Dorset Council is seeking an experienced Assistant Team Manager to support the leadership and operational delivery of the Children's Family Help Team. Working alongside the Team Manager, you will provide supervision, guidance, and support to Social Workers and Family Workers, ensuring children, young people, and families receive timely and effective services.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Team Manager in the day-to-day management of the Family Help Team
- Provide professional supervision, mentoring, and support to practitioners
- Promote high-quality safeguarding practice and decision-making
- Assist with workload management, performance monitoring, and service delivery
- Support child protection, child in need, and family support planning
- Chair and contribute to professional meetings as required
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to improve outcomes for children and families
- Contribute to quality assurance, audit activity, and practice improvement
- Support staff development, induction, and workforce planning
- Deputise for the Team Manager when required
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
- Significant post-qualified experience within Children's Social Care
- Experience of supervision, mentoring, or practice leadership
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Child Protection, and Child in Need processes
- Ability to support and develop a high-performing team
- Excellent communication and partnership-working skills
