Associate Manager (Pharmaceutical Development) in Cwmbran

Smart4 Sciences are working with an established and innovative pharmaceutical services provider to recruit an Associate Manager, Pharmaceutical Development into their Pharmaceutical Development team.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role within a specialist pharmaceutical development team focused on inhalation and respiratory drug products. You will be responsible for managing and mentoring scientists, providing technical expertise to clients and project teams, and driving scientific excellence across a range of complex pharmaceutical development projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of Senior Scientists and Pharmaceutical Analysts.
• Provide scientific and technical leadership to internal project teams and external clients.
• Act as a recognised subject matter expert and key point of contact for technical problem-solving.
• Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and laboratory activities to ensure successful project delivery.
• Ensure team members are appropriately trained and competent to perform their responsibilities.
• Review experimental work, technical reports, scientific data, and publication materials.
• Present technical findings to clients and stakeholders and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance scientific processes and workflows.
• Support recruitment, performance management, and development of team members.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, health and safety, and company standards.

Essential:

• Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Experience within inhalation or respiratory product development and research.
• Previous experience leading or managing scientific teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong scientific knowledge with the ability to interpret and communicate complex technical data.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and senior leadership team
