This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 5+ years’ practical audit experience within accountancy practice who is looking for their next career move. The Role
Working across a varied portfolio of clients and industry sectors, you will take a more experienced role across audit and accounts assignments.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking an active role in audit assignments from planning through to completion, with greater responsibility for progressing work through each stage
- Carrying out audit fieldwork independently and as part of a wider audit team, using your experience to manage your own areas of work effectively
- Working closely with senior colleagues and other members of the team to ensure assignments progress smoothly and deadlines are met
- Identifying audit risks and control weaknesses, raising key points and contributing to practical recommendations for clients
- Preparing statutory accounts alongside audit assignments, using your experience to deal with more involved areas of the accounts
- Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies across a varied client portfolio
- Preparing corporation tax returns and supporting schedules for senior review
- Taking responsibility for the accuracy and timely completion of your work, ensuring it meets professional standards and is ready for review
About You
Previous audit experience is essential. Our client is looking for an experienced individual with 5+ years’ practical audit experience within an accountancy practice, ideally operating at experienced Semi Senior or Senior level.
Accounts preparation experience would also be highly advantageous, as many of the audits undertaken by the practice involve preparing the accounts at the same time.
Ideally, you will:
- Have 5+ years’ audit experience within an accountancy practice
- Have a good understanding of audit and accounting principles
- Have accounts preparation experience, ideally including limited companies
- Be studying towards, or looking to progress towards, ACA or ACCA
- Be organised, accurate and able to manage deadlines effectively
- Be confident communicating with clients and colleagues
- Be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
- Have good Excel skills
- Hold a full UK driving licence
They also offer excellent study support. For each subject/exam, candidates receive approximately 10 days where they can study on a Friday instead of working, giving you valuable dedicated study time alongside your professional training.
