Audit and Accounts Semi-Senior

Position: Full Time / Permanent

We’re working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Cardiff that is looking to add an ambitious Accounts & Audit Semi-Senior to its team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a few years’ practice experience who is looking to broaden their technical knowledge and take the next step in their career. You’ll gain exposure to a varied portfolio of clients, working across both accounts preparation and audit, while developing your skills within a supportive and forward-thinking practice.

You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with experienced members of the team, build strong client relationships and take on increasing responsibility as your experience develops.

The Role:

• Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies

• Assisting with statutory accounts and year-end accounts preparation

• Supporting audit assignments from planning through to completion

• Carrying out audit testing and preparing working papers

• Preparing VAT returns and supporting with general tax compliance

• Liaising with clients to obtain information and resolve queries

• Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines

• Supporting junior members of the team where required

What we’re looking for:

• Around 2 years’ experience within an accountancy practice

• AAT qualified, part-qualified ACA/ACCA or actively studying towards a professional qualification

• Previous experience across accounts and some audit exposure

• Good understanding of accounting principles and statutory accounts

• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills

• Confident communicating with clients and colleagues
