Audit Manager

A well-established accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced Audit Manager to join its Newbury office.

This is a key appointment within the audit team and would suit an experienced Audit Manager looking for a new challenge, increased responsibility and a clear opportunity to progress within an established practice.

The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of audit clients, lead assignments from planning through to completion and provide guidance to the wider audit team.

The Role:

• Managing a portfolio of audit clients 
• Planning, managing and completing audit assignments 
• Reviewing audit files and financial statements 
• Ensuring assignments are delivered to a high standard and within budget 
• Supervising and mentoring Audit Seniors and Assistant Managers 
• Providing technical guidance and resolving audit issues 
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships 
• Liaising with Partners and Directors on client matters 
• Managing workflow, deadlines and team resources 
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and client service 
• Supporting the development and progression of junior members of the team 
• Contributing to the continued growth of the audit department 

About You:

• ACA or ACCA qualified 
• Proven experience within an accountancy practice 
• Strong audit experience at Manager or highly experienced Assistant Manager level 
• Confident managing audits from planning through to completion 
• Experience supervising and developing junior team members 
• Strong technical accounting and auditing knowledge 
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills 
• Commercially minded with a proactive approach 
• Able to work independently while contributing effectively to the wider team 
• Keen to progress and take on further responsibility
