NXTGEN is pleased to be partnering with a highly regarded and growing accountancy practice as they look to strengthen their expanding team with the appointment of an Audit Manager.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Audit Manager, or an ambitious Assistant Manager ready to step up, to take on greater responsibility across a varied client portfolio. You will have the opportunity to take real ownership of client relationships, work on increasingly complex assignments and play an important role in the continued development of the wider audit team.
The role offers a broad mix of audit, accounts and advisory work, with exposure to a diverse portfolio of SME and group clients across a range of sectors. Working closely with Partners and senior members of the team, you will have plenty of client interaction and the opportunity to become a trusted point of contact, whilst also developing your technical and commercial experience.
As Audit Manager, you will take responsibility for audits from planning through to completion, ensuring work is delivered to a high standard and within agreed deadlines and budgets. There is also strong exposure to group audits and consolidated accounts, alongside statutory accounts and corporation tax work, making this a particularly good opportunity for someone looking to broaden their experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a portfolio of audit and accounts clients across a variety of industries
- Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met
- Taking responsibility for audits of groups and consolidated financial statements
- Reviewing audit files, financial statements and supporting documentation prior to Partner review
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients and developing strong, long lasting relationships
- Reviewing and preparing statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP and relevant accounting standards
- Overseeing the preparation and review of corporation tax computations
- Identifying opportunities to provide additional advisory services and supporting clients with wider business matters
- Managing, mentoring and developing junior members of the team
- Supporting workflow planning, resource allocation and wider team development
- Attending client meetings and presenting audit findings and recommendations
What We're Looking For:
- ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience
- Strong audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment
- Experience managing audits from planning through to completion
- Exposure to group audits and consolidated financial statements
- Good working knowledge of UK GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Experience reviewing accounts and corporation tax computations
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem solving
