We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Automotive Legal & Compliance Executive to join our client's reputable automotive business in Chelmsford, Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Automotive Legal & Compliance Executive with a background in consumer law, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance to contribute to a dynamic team and progress their career within the motor trade industry.

Duties as a Automotive Legal & Compliance Executive will include:
  • Serve as the primary contact for escalated customer concerns and complex aftersales cases
  • Manage disputes by investigating documentation, gathering evidence, and liaising with customers and internal teams
  • Support the resolution of issues before escalation into formal disputes, complaints, or legal claims
  • Provide paralegal-level support on legal and regulatory matters related to vehicle sales, consumer rights, and compliance obligations
  • Assist in managing legal claims, preparing documentation, evidence packs, and correspondence
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of legal documentation, investigations, and complaint files
  • Collaborate closely with the Legal Case Handler to ensure appropriate resolution and risk mitigation
  • Support the business in maintaining FCA compliance and adherence to consumer protection legislation
  • Provide operational support to senior management, including contract management, compliance processes, and project assistance
  • Assist in reporting on operational risks, recurring issues, and case management performance
Requirements for the Automotive Legal & Compliance Executive position:
  • Proven experience within the motor trade or automotive sector is desirable
  • Experience in handling customer complaints, disputes, or case management
  • Background in a legal, regulatory, compliance, or paralegal environment
  • Knowledge of consumer protection legislation and FCA regulations (desirable)
  • Strong investigative and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple cases effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional, calm, and confident when dealing with sensitive or complex matters
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems
