Are you an experienced Light Vehicle Technician with a passion for developing others? A well-established Further Education college in Buckinghamshire is looking for an Automotive Apprenticeship Trainer to join their growing apprenticeships team. This is a brilliant opportunity for an industry professional who wants to pass on their expertise and make a real difference to the next generation of automotive technicians.

Day to day, you will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality teaching aligned to apprenticeship standards and awarding body requirements
  • Manage a caseload of apprentices, visiting them in their place of work for assessment and progress reviews
  • Provide meaningful one-to-one coaching, feedback and target setting to support learner progression
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with employers, ensuring training plans reflect real workplace needs
  • Keep accurate records of attendance, progress and off-the-job training in line with funding and compliance requirements
  • Participate in curriculum development, course reviews and continuous professional development
  • Contribute to open events and employer engagement activities as required

What we are looking for

  • A Level 3 qualification or above in a relevant automotive discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • Recent, hands-on professional experience in the automotive sector
  • A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
  • Maths and English at Level 2 or above
  • Experience of instructing, training or mentoring others in a professional setting
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload
  • A genuine passion for supporting learners and raising their aspirations
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality and diversity
