Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Azure Pre-Sales Solution Architect to join our team. This customer-facing role is focused on helping clients define and realise their cloud transformation goals through Microsoft Azure. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will work closely with sales, account management, and delivery teams to identify opportunities, shape solutions, and develop compelling propositions across Application Modernisation, Data & Analytics, AI, and Cloud Platform services.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with commercial awareness, helping customers understand how Azure technologies can address business challenges while supporting revenue growth and strategic customer relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with sales and account teams to identify, qualify, and develop Azure-related opportunities.
  • Engage with customers to understand business objectives, technical challenges, and transformation priorities across applications, data, analytics, automation, and AI.
  • Lead customer discovery sessions, workshops, assessments, and architectural discussions.
  • Develop solution strategies, value propositions, and transformation roadmaps aligned to customer business outcomes.
  • Design high-level Azure solutions and target architectures that are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
  • Produce solution documentation, architecture diagrams, statements of work, project assumptions, estimates, and commercial proposals.
  • Deliver customer presentations, executive briefings, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept discussions.
  • Build business cases that articulate value, benefits, ROI, and key success measures.
  • Collaborate with Microsoft and strategic technology partners to develop joint opportunities and solution offerings.
  • Work alongside delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible, deliverable, and aligned with customer expectations.
  • Support contract reviews and commercial discussions to ensure solution scope and assumptions are accurately represented.
  • Contribute to pipeline growth, account expansion, and cross-sell opportunities across the Azure portfolio.
  • Develop reusable pre-sales assets, reference architectures, case studies, and go-to-market materials.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging Azure, Data, AI, and Cloud technologies to provide thought leadership internally and externally.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers throughout the sales cycle, helping them navigate technical and business decisions.
  • Ensure a seamless transition from sales to delivery through effective knowledge transfer and stakeholder alignment.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in technology consulting, architecture, cloud services, or professional services.
  • 5+ years of experience in a pre-sales, solution consulting, sales engineering, or client-facing architecture role.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting complex solution sales within Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including Application Modernisation, Cloud Native Development, Integration, Data Platforms, Analytics, and AI services.
  • experience creating solution architectures, commercial proposals, statements of work, and project estimates.
  • Strong customer engagement, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into compelling technical and commercial solutions.
  • experience contributing to RFx responses, competitive bids, and opportunity pursuits.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and proposal-writing skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to articulate value, ROI, and business outcomes.
  • experience working closely with sales teams to influence and close opportunities.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure AI Engineer Associate, or other relevant Microsoft certifications.
  • experience with Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, and AI-enabled business solutions.
  • Understanding of cloud migration, application modernisation, and data transformation programmes.
  • experience developing effort estimates, project plans, and delivery assumptions.
  • Knowledge of professional services engagement models and consulting methodologies.
  • experience presenting to senior business and technical stakeholders, including C-suite audiences.
  • Strong understanding of current market trends across cloud, data, security, and AI.
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations as required.
