Band 6 Administrator / Senior Business Support Officer – Nursing

We are currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Administrator / Senior Business Support Officer to support the Nursing Directorate, based at Portland House in Worthing.
Please note, although the role may be referred to internally as a Business Manager, this is not a Project Manager position. The responsibilities are more closely aligned with a Senior Administrator / Executive Assistant / Business Support Officer role.
Role Overview
This is a senior business support role providing direct support to the Chief Nursing Officer and the wider Nursing Directorate. The successful candidate will support business management functions, performance reporting, service improvement, diary management, senior meetings, and high-level administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level administrative and business support to the Chief Nursing Officer
- Manage the Chief Officer’s diary, priorities, meetings, and commitments
- Organise and service senior-level meetings, including agendas, minutes, and action logs
- Produce, analyse, and present performance and business reports
- Support performance reporting, data analysis, and information processes
- Assist with service planning, improvement, and delivery against targets
- Provide project and business support, including monitoring progress and delegated budgets
- Line manage administrative staff within the directorate
- Represent the directorate at internal and external meetings when required
- Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a senior administrative, executive assistant, business support, or NHS business management role
- Strong diary management and senior stakeholder support experience
- Experience preparing reports, minutes, agendas, and action logs
- Good understanding of performance reporting and data analysis
- Advanced MS Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
- Line management experience is desirable
- NHS or healthcare experience is highly desirable
- PRINCE2 or similar project management knowledge is desirable but not essential
