The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are seeking a resilient and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming primary school in the Shrewsbury area from September 2026.

This is a full-time role supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, behavioural challenges, and additional learning needs. Working closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and pastoral team, you will provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils regulate their emotions, develop positive behaviours, and successfully engage with learning.

Your Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs across KS1 and KS2
* Build positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence, resilience, and engagement
* Implement behaviour support plans and emotional regulation strategies
* Support pupils to successfully access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities
* Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and pastoral staff to deliver consistent support
* Encourage positive behaviour, social interaction, and independence throughout the school day
* Monitor pupil progress and contribute to intervention reviews and behaviour planning
* Promote a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:
* Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly SEMH and behavioural needs
* Experience working within a primary school, specialist provision, or alternative provision
* Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
* Calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting vulnerable pupils
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing
