Bi Analyst

We are seeking a dynamic and analytical BI Analyst to join a Business Intelligence team in Plymouth.

The role will focus on developing reports, dashboards and data-driven insights that support decision-making across the business. Working with a variety of data sources, you will analyse information, identify trends and communicate findings in a clear and meaningful way to stakeholders.

You will play an important role in understanding business requirements, developing visually engaging reporting solutions and ensuring that reports remain accurate, relevant and easy to use.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards in line with business requirements and best practice.
• Analyse existing datasets to ensure reports are built using accurate and appropriate data sources.
• Create visually engaging and user-friendly reports that provide meaningful business insights.
• Regularly review and improve existing reports to ensure they remain accurate, effective and up to date.
• Deliver report walkthroughs and provide training to users when new reports or enhancements are introduced.
• Produce ad hoc reports and analysis to support business priorities and operational decision-making.
• Present findings, insights and recommendations clearly to stakeholders across the business.
• Work closely with colleagues to understand reporting requirements and develop data-driven solutions.
• Identify trends, opportunities and potential issues through analysis of business data.
• Support the continuous improvement of reporting processes and business intelligence solutions.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Experience using Microsoft Excel.
• A good understanding of business principles and how data can be used to support effective decision-making.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• An analytical mindset combined with good commercial awareness.
• Excellent prioritisation, organisational and time-management skills.
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• A willingness and ability to quickly learn new skills, systems and technologies.
• A creative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Experience creating reports, dashboards or business analysis.
• Experience using Power BI.
• Previous experience in Business Intelligence, Reporting, Data Analysis or a similar analytical role.
• Experience presenting data, insights and findings to business stakeholders.
