Bid Coordinator in Yorkshire and the Humber

Elvet Recruitment is excited to be working with a highly regarded contractor who is looking for a Bid Coordinator in the  North East Lincolnshire / Humberside area.

With over 40 years of experience, this contractor has successfully delivered a wide range of civil engineering and building projects across the UK, covering key sectors such as highways, bridges, public realm, and rail. They have recently secured projects valued at up to £10 million and continue to work with both new and long-standing clients across the public and private sectors. The Bid Coordinator is responsible for managing tender documentation, preparing and issuing subcontract and supplier enquiries, whilst ensuring accuracy. This role supports the estimating teams by coordinating with subcontractors and material suppliers, verifying their suitability, and ensuring all parties receive the correct information for pricing.

What You’ll Be Doing

Tender Document Management

• Review and separate tender documentation into relevant subcontract and material supply packages.
• Extract and prepare trade-specific drawings, specifications, and schedules for distribution.
• Ensure each subcontractor or supplier receives only the information relevant to their scope of works.

Subcontractor Enquiries

• Issue enquiries to subcontractors for a wide range of trades, including but not limited to:
  • Traffic management
  • Paving and surfacing
  • Road markings and anti-skid surfacing
  • Hand railings, scaffolding, and fencing
  • Landscaping, cladding, and steelwork
  • Concrete floors and walls
  • Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) / street lighting
  • Drain jetting and cleaning
  • Tree felling and demolition
• Verify that all subcontractors operate within the geographic area of the project.
• Follow up on outstanding enquiries via email and telephone to ensure timely return of quotations.

Material Supplier Enquiries

• Prepare and send enquiries to material suppliers and merchants for items including:
• Aggregates and hard landscaping products
• Concrete, precast concrete, and drainage components (e.g., precast manhole rings)
• Reclaimed materials such as York stone, historic copings, stone walling, and bricks
• Mortars, street furniture, kerbs, ironworks (e.g., gully and manhole covers)
• Hire equipment such as safety boats, access platforms, and trench support systems
• Ensure all suppliers receive accurate material specifications and quantities.
• Chase material quotations to meet tender deadlines.

Coordination & Compliance

• Maintain an organised log of all enquiries issued and responses received.
• Ensure subcontractor and supplier information is complete, accurate, and compliant with tender requirements.
• Liaise with the estimating and procurement teams to clarify missing information or scope gaps.

Role Information

• Monday to Friday 08.00-17:00 (Office Based)
• £33,000 salary
