A well-established regional main contractor based in Maidstone is looking to appoint an experienced Bid Writer to join their growing pre-construction team. The business delivers a diverse portfolio of projects across the South East, specialising in Education, Commercial, and Industrial schemes ranging from £5m to £30m.

The Role

You will play a key role in the preparation and delivery of high-quality tender submissions, working closely with technical, commercial, and operational teams to produce compelling bid documents.

Responsibilities include:

• Writing, editing, and coordinating bid submissions and PQQ responses
• Producing clear, engaging content for quality, methodology, and technical sections
• Interpreting technical and commercial information into persuasive written responses
• Managing multiple deadlines across concurrent bids
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to gather accurate project information
• Supporting continuous improvement of bid documentation and processes

Requirements

• Proven experience in a bid writing or proposal writing role (ideally within construction or civil engineering)
• Strong written communication and copywriting skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style
• Experience producing detailed submissions, including quality and methodology responses
• Ability to translate complex technical and commercial information into clear, compelling content
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
• Experience with InDesign is advantageous but not essential
