ASME Engineering Ltd is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing day-to-day transactions, and supporting the smooth running of the company's financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping.
- Process purchase and sales invoices.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank accounts and company credit cards.
- Process supplier payments and monitor outstanding invoices.
- Prepare VAT returns and assist with HMRC compliance.
- Support month-end and year-end financial processes.
- Maintain the company cashbook and financial records.
- Assist with payroll preparation (if required).
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and external accountants.
- Ensure all financial information is accurate and up to date.
- Carry out general finance and administrative duties as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar finance role.
- Good understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
