ASME Engineering Ltd is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing day-to-day transactions, and supporting the smooth running of the company's financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping.
  • Process purchase and sales invoices.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and company credit cards.
  • Process supplier payments and monitor outstanding invoices.
  • Prepare VAT returns and assist with HMRC compliance.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial processes.
  • Maintain the company cashbook and financial records.
  • Assist with payroll preparation (if required).
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers, and external accountants.
  • Ensure all financial information is accurate and up to date.
  • Carry out general finance and administrative duties as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar finance role.
  • Good understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Right to work in the UK.
