Location: South London
Salary: £30,000 - £37,000 per annum pro-rata (depending on experience)
Employment Type: Part-Time – Ideally 4 hours per day, with flexibility available

With an excellent reputation for craftsmanship, attention to detail, and exceptional customer service, our client is looking for a reliable and experienced Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of their growing business.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a friendly and professional team. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the day-to-day running of the accounts function, and ensuring financial processes operate efficiently. Working closely with the directors and external accountants, you will play an important role in helping the business manage its finances while supporting continued growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records using accounting software.
  • Process purchase invoices, sales invoices, credit notes, and payments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, and customer accounts.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements.
  • Process employee expenses and assist with payroll preparation where required.
  • Monitor cash flow and assist with financial reporting.
  • Prepare month-end reports and support year-end accounts preparation.
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers, and external accountants regarding financial matters.
  • Maintain organised financial records and ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Support the wider business with general finance and administration duties.
Requirements / Skills
  • Previous experience in a Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant position.
  • Experience within manufacturing, construction, joinery, or a project-based business would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and financial processes.
  • Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar.
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional and approachable manner.
  • AAT qualification or equivalent would be beneficial but is not essential.
