About Our Client
Our client is a highly established logistics provider seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bookings / Customer Services Co-ordinator to join their busy Export Groupage team in Stallingborough. This business values seamless communication, strict operational efficiency, and top-tier service delivery.
Position Purpose
As the first point of contact between our client's customers and their internal operations team, you will secure transport bookings, update proprietary software, and track shipments to ensure on-time collection and export.
Core Responsibilities
- Customer Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for client accounts, handling enquiries and maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Booking Management: Create, log, and update freight bookings within our client's internal software tracking systems.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work actively with colleagues across various departments, UK hubs, and international offices to coordinate smooth freight movements.
- Proactive Problem Solving: Identify transit bottlenecks or booking discrepancies early and resolve them efficiently to eliminate delays.
Candidate Competence Profile
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Prior logistics or freight forwarding experience within a dedicated bookings environment.
- Customer-focused mindset with a clear determination to deliver an excellent level of service.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Confident, approachable manner when dealing with international teams and demanding clients.
- High level of IT literacy with a sharp eye for administrative detail.
Experience & Education:
- Experience: Ideally a minimum of 1 year working within a fast-paced Logistics, Shipping, or Freight environment.
- Education: GCSE Grades A-C (or 4-9) in both English and Mathematics.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in standard Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Adaptable to learning internal logistics and tracking database software.
