We are currently recruiting for a Bookkeeper to join a successful and expanding business in North Nottinghamshire. Working closely with senior leadership, you'll become a trusted member of the team, helping to maintain robust financial processes while supporting the business as it continues to grow.
The Role
As Bookkeeper, you'll be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the finance function, maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring all transactional activities are completed efficiently.
You'll work across a broad range of finance duties, supporting month-end processes and providing reliable financial information to help the business make informed decisions. This is a role that offers genuine ownership and the opportunity to become an integral part of a growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the purchase and sales ledger
- Process supplier payments and customer receipts
- Complete bank reconciliations and maintain cash books
- Prepare and post journals where required
- Support month-end processes and management reporting
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Assist with VAT returns and statutory requirements
- Monitor cashflow and maintain accurate financial records
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and efficiencies
About You
- Previous experience in a Bookkeeper or similar all-round finance role
- Strong understanding of day-to-day accounting processes
- Experience supporting month-end activities
- Good knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently
- Confident communicating with colleagues, customers and suppliers
