Branch Manager – Hydraulics Industry

About the Role

Osprey Engineering Solutions are hiring on behalf of a well-established company within the hydraulics industry. We're looking for an experienced Branch Manager to take full ownership of one of their local branches — leading a team of internal staff and mobile technicians, driving local business growth, and ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly and safely.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll manage people, inventory, quality, and health & safety, while also getting out into the local area to build the business and hit sales targets — all within agreed budgets.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Taking overall responsibility for the branch's performance and standards
  • Leading, developing, and motivating your branch and mobile team members
  • Ensuring the whole team delivers professional, timely communication and excellent customer service
  • Assembling hoses from patterns or customer-supplied drawings
  • Handling call-outs, both during working hours and out-of-hours
  • Responding to quotation requests, pricing within company guidelines
  • Acting as Quality Management Representative — maintaining Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management systems to ISO standards and group targets
  • Providing technical support to internal and mobile hose technicians
  • Recruiting, training, and coaching your team to meet objectives
  • Carrying out and documenting checks and inspections
  • Managing inventory, including regular stock checks
  • Maintaining high branch housekeeping standards at all times
  • Managing counter sales and cash transactions per company procedure
  • Keeping systems and records accurate and up to date
  • Key holding — opening and closing the branch

What We're Looking For

  • Ability to lead, develop, influence, and inspire a team
  • Minimum 2 years' experience directly managing a branch operation
  • Proven track record in business development and/or direct sales
  • Proven experience assembling hoses (relevant qualification preferred)
  • Experience administering company quality and health & safety systems
  • Experience with inventory management
  • Fork lift truck licence preferred
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Good level of IT literacy
