Brazing Operative

CareerMakers Recruitment currently looking for Brazing Operators to join our client based in Accrington, BB5 area.

Duties:

• Prepare components for brazing.
• Select the appropriate filler metals and fluxes.
• Set up and operate brazing equipment.
• Produce high-quality brazed joints in line with engineering specifications.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
• Maintain brazing equipment and keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Safe handling of compressed gases and fuel cylinders.
• Correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Awareness of fire safety procedures and ventilation requirements.
• Ability to carry out visual inspections of brazed joints.
• Competent in using measuring equipment such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
• Understanding of brazed joint quality standards and acceptance criteria.

Skills and experience:

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Understanding of brazing processes, filler metals, and fluxes.
• Knowledge of a range of base materials, including steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, and aluminium.
• Experience with heating methods such as torch, induction, or furnace brazing.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials as required.
• Good eyesight, including colour recognition where applicable.

Working hours :

Monday - Friday: 7.45am - 4.15pm

Pay: £14.27
