Protocol Education is recruiting a full-time BSL Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Newcastle upon Tyne. This rewarding role will involve supporting deaf and hearing-impaired pupils, helping them access learning, communicate confidently and participate fully in school life.

Working closely with teachers and support staff, you'll play a key role in ensuring pupils receive the support they need to develop academically, socially and emotionally.

What you'll be doing
  • Supporting deaf and hearing-impaired pupils within lessons
  • Using British Sign Language (BSL) to aid communication
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Helping pupils access learning materials
  • Encouraging confidence and independence
  • Supporting social interaction and communication skills
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff
  • Monitoring and celebrating pupil progress

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
