Location: Saffron Walden, Essex
Salary: £12,780 per annum / £15.00 per hour

Working Hours:

The role offers guaranteed hours of 20 hours per week, working approximately 4 hours per day, typically from 07:00–09:00 and 14:30–16:30. The depot is conveniently located within walking distance of Saffron Walden town centre.

Overview:

First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who is seeking a Part-Time School Bus Driver to join their team in Saffron Walden.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Bus or Coach Driver looking to reduce their hours while remaining professionally engaged, or for someone with a Category B driving licence who is interested in developing their career and obtaining a PSV licence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely operate school buses in accordance with all relevant legislation and company procedures.
• Transport pupils safely and reliably to and from school.
• Provide a professional and courteous service to passengers.
• Carry out appropriate vehicle safety checks and report any defects or issues.
• Maintain high standards of punctuality, reliability and customer service.
• Follow designated routes and schedules.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of passengers throughout each journey.
• Maintain a professional and positive approach when representing the company.
• Attend required training, medicals and other company activities.
• Work flexibly and support the wider team when required.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Valid PCV Licence (Category D or D1 with no 101 restriction), or a Category B driving licence with a willingness to obtain a PSV licence.
• Professional and reliable approach to work.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong commitment to passenger safety.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible, positive and can-do attitude.
• Previous bus or coach driving experience is desirable but not essential, as training is available.
• Must live in or around Saffron Walden.
