Osprey Engineering Solutions

The Company

Our client is a well-established Southampton-based specialist in the supply, maintenance, repair and testing of industrial valves and flow control equipment. They work across sectors including oil and gas, marine, water treatment and power generation, and have built a strong reputation for technical expertise and quality of service.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on administration role sitting at the heart of the business. You’ll be supporting the day-to-day operations across four key areas: document control, finance administration, stock control and general business administration. You’ll work closely with the engineering, operations and management teams. A technical background isn’t essential, but the ability to pick things up quickly in a fast-paced environment is.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an administrative or business support role
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail — accurate and methodical in everything you do
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Comfortable with financial administration — invoicing, purchase orders and basic accounts processes
  • Confident communicator at all levels, both written and verbal
  • Able to work independently and use your own initiative

Desirable

  • Experience in document control, ideally within an engineering or regulated environment
  • Background in an industrial or technical business
  • Experience with stock control or an ERP system
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or quality management systems
  • Experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero or QuickBooks
  • A relevant business administration qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, AAT or equivalent)
