How you’ll spend your day
You'll join a collaborative Agile engineering team, acting as the bridge between business stakeholders and software developers to ensure the right solutions are delivered. Working in a fast-paced delivery environment, you'll shape requirements, refine backlogs and help keep delivery teams focused on building products that create real business value.
You'll be responsible for:
- Working closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into clear, well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Owning and refining the product backlog in Azure DevOps, ensuring work is prioritised, sprint-ready and aligned with business objectives.
- Facilitating Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning and sprint reviews.
- Analysing and mapping current and future business processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborating with developers and QA teams to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguity throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Creating clear acceptance criteria, including Gherkin scenarios where appropriate, to support Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD).
- Supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring delivered functionality meets agreed business requirements.
- Maintaining requirements traceability, tracking progress and managing dependencies across delivery workstreams.
- Championing a delivery-first approach, helping the team focus on outcomes rather than excessive documentation.
What you’ll bring to this role
We're looking for an experienced Business Analyst who thrives in Agile delivery teams and enjoys working closely with engineers to deliver high-quality software. You'll be a strong communicator, confident managing stakeholders and passionate about turning business problems into practical technical solutions.
You'll ideally have:
- 3-5 years' commercial experience as a Business Analyst within Agile software delivery environments.
- Strong experience writing high-quality user stories and clear, testable acceptance criteria.
- Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps for backlog management, sprint planning and story tracking.
- A solid understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, with experience supporting cross-functional engineering teams.
- Experience analysing business processes and producing clear as-is and to-be workflow documentation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset with a passion for enabling successful software delivery.
Desirable experience:
- Experience writing Gherkin scenarios and working within Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) environments.
- Familiarity with QA automation concepts and tools such as Selenium, Playwright or Cucumber.
- Experience supporting software engineering, digital transformation or systems integration projects.
- Previous experience working within fast-paced Agile environments where collaboration and continuous improvement are key.
