Our client is a fast-growing specialist lender looking for a driven Business Development Manager to join its team. This is a desk-based BDM role specialising in commercial bridging finance, focused on developing intermediary relationships, generating new business and supporting the delivery of commercially sound lending solutions.
The package for the BDM:
- £60,000 – £65,000 salary, depending on experience
- 28 days’ holiday, including 3 days between Christmas and New Year, plus bank holidays

You’ll combine relationship management with a strong commercial mindset, delivering a high level of service while identifying opportunities and supporting the structuring of deals that align with both customer objectives and the lender’s credit appetite.
Key Responsibilities for the BDM:
- Identify, develop and onboard new intermediary partners across target regions and sectors
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing brokers to generate repeat and new business
- Manage inbound enquiries professionally, providing clear guidance and a consistently high level of service
- Proactively undertake outbound business development activity to drive engagement and sales performance
- Represent the business with credibility, professionalism and personality at every touchpoint
- Develop a strong understanding of broker and borrower requirements to identify suitable lending opportunities
- Support the structuring of complex bridging facilities in line with customer objectives and credit appetite
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth and efficient journey from enquiry through to completion
- Proven business development experience within specialist bridging finance; experience in commercial bridging would be a significant advantage
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and convert new opportunities
- A track record of developing and maintaining successful intermediary relationships
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills
- Confidence handling objections and finding creative solutions to challenges
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive, target-driven approach with a genuine focus on delivering results
