An established and highly regarded independent fleet solutions business is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join its growing commercial team.
This is a consultative B2B sales opportunity focused on developing new relationships, understanding customer requirements and delivering tailored fleet solutions across cars, LCVs, HGVs and specialist vehicles.
With a broad portfolio covering fleet management, funding, maintenance, vehicle hire, accident management, duty of care, vehicle conversions and downtime management, the business is able to offer customers a genuinely comprehensive fleet proposition.
The Role of the Business Development Manager / Business Development Executive / Business Development Lead
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the fleet and automotive sector
- Build strong relationships with senior decision-makers and fleet stakeholders
- Understand customer operations, challenges and commercial objectives
- Develop tailored fleet solutions that deliver operational and financial value
- Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle, from initial contact through to contract award
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and commercial proposals
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements
- Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular pipeline and activity updates
- Develop long-term commercial relationships and identify further opportunities for growth
What we're looking for from the Business Development Manager / Business Development Executive / Business Development Lead
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience in fleet, automotive, leasing, contract hire, rental, transport or a related B2B environment
- A demonstrable track record of generating and converting new business
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and decision-makers
- A consultative approach to sales rather than a transactional one
- The ability to understand complex customer requirements and develop appropriate solutions
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisation and pipeline management
- A proactive, self-motivated approach
- Full UK driving licence
- 25 days' annual leave, increasing to 30 days with service
