OA are recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join our client’s growing sales team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven B2B sales professional to take ownership of a defined territory covering North London, Central London and the Home Counties, identify and secure new business opportunities, and play a key role in driving continued commercial growth.

You’ll be responsible for hunting for new clients, developing strategic sales opportunities and building long-term relationships with prospective customers. Working as part of an established and collaborative sales team, you’ll have the autonomy to generate your own opportunities, supported by inbound marketing leads, networking and targeted business development activity.

Location: Hemel Hempstead
Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. 8:30am-5pm. 2-3 days on the road selling, with the remaining days office or home-based. Every Tuesday, you will be required to be based at the Hemel Hempstead site.
Salary: £40,000-£50,000 + commission + £580 per month car allowance + 20p per mile mileage.

  • Identify, target and secure new B2B business opportunities across a defined territory.
  • Spend 2-3 days per week on the road, visiting approximately 4 clients per day.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to generate new business and achieve sales targets.
  • Generate, develop and nurture sales opportunities through the full sales cycle.
  • Proactively source new clients through networking, targeted activity, referrals and self-generated leads.
  • Manage and convert inbound marketing leads into new business opportunities.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with prospective and new clients.
  • Understand client requirements and develop tailored, needs-based solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging presentations and commercially focused proposals.
  • Manage complex commercial opportunities, including pricing, profitability and financial modelling.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to develop solutions that meet client needs.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets and agreed KPIs.
  • Proven B2B sales experience with a strong track record in new business development.
  • Experience generating and nurturing opportunities through the full sales process.
  • Confident, self-motivated and able to work independently for extended periods.
  • Strong commercial and financial awareness, with experience managing Excel data and calculating profitability on complex deals.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to turn complex concepts into clear, compelling solutions.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Goal-oriented, determined, positive and solution-focused.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure and complex environment.
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across multiple departments and at all levels.
  • Collaborative team player with a hands-on approach and a willingness to get stuck in.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using CRM or bespoke business systems.
  • Additional languages would be advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence.
