CAD Engineer

Consortium Professional Recruitment Ltd

Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be working with an established East Yorkshire business to recruit a CAD Engineer. This is a varied opportunity for someone who enjoys producing high-quality technical drawings, solving practical design challenges and seeing their work contribute to real projects.

You’ll join a collaborative technical environment where you’ll work with colleagues across different areas of the business, balancing multiple priorities and taking ownership of your drawings from initial requirements through to completion.

The Opportunity:
As a CAD Engineer you’ll play a key role in:
  • Producing accurate 2D AutoCAD drawings, including plans, layouts, elevations and supporting technical information.
  • Preparing drawings and design information to support projects through different stages, from initial enquiries to delivery.
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to understand requirements, answer technical queries and develop practical solutions.
  • Managing drawing information and documentation, ensuring records are accurate, organised and maintained to agreed quality standards.
  • Prioritising your workload across multiple projects, delivering accurate work within agreed timescales.
Your work will directly contribute to the smooth delivery of projects by providing clear, accurate and practical technical information to the teams involved.

About You:
We’re looking for someone who can bring:
  • Experience using AutoCAD, with the ability to produce accurate 2D technical drawings.
  • Good IT, planning and organisational skills, with an eye for detail.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work towards project deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with colleagues and external contacts.
  • The confidence to use your own initiative while also contributing positively as part of a wider team.
Experience within a construction, manufacturing, modular or similarly technical environment could be useful, but it isn’t essential. We’re interested in transferable skills and would encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn’t match every point.

The Benefits and Package:
In return, you’ll enjoy:
  • Salary of £33,000 to £38,000, depending on experience.
  • The opportunity to work on a varied range of projects.
  • A role combining independent responsibility with collaboration across different teams.
  • The chance to develop your experience within an established technical environment.
