Care Assistants – Rehabilitation Care Home

Location: Dudley
Pay rates: £13.50 – £19.50. per hour (depending on shift type)
Job type: Flexible agency shifts

Austin Dean Recruitment is urgently seeking experienced and compassionate Care Assistants to support residents at a rehabilitation care home in Brierley Hill. Our clients has a large residental home with a capacity of 48. The home cares for and supports elderly including people with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. 

Shift patterns

• 7:30am–2:30pm
• 2:30pm–9:30pm
• 9:30pm–7:30am

Shifts are available Monday to Sunday. Applicants must be flexible and available to work weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting residents with personal care, dressing and mobility
• Assisting with meals and feeding where required
• Promoting residents’ dignity, independence and wellbeing
• Monitoring and recording changes in residents’ health
• Reporting concerns promptly to nursing or senior staff
• Supporting social and recreational activities
• Following safeguarding, infection control and health and safety procedures
• Working effectively with colleagues and multidisciplinary teams

Essential requirements

• Previous experience as a Care Assistant or in a similar care role
• Enhanced BDS
• Right to Work 
• A compassionate, reliable and patient approach
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work days, evenings, nights and weekends
• Training with certificates: Practical Manual Handling, Manual Handling Theory, Fire Awareness, First Aid, Safeguarding Adults (SOVA), Medication, Epilepsy, Infection Control, Basic Food Hygiene and Safety, COSHH
