Deputy Care Home Manager

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
Location: Sandiacre, Nottingham
Contract: Full Time | Permanent

Are you an experienced Deputy Manager or a senior care professional ready to take the next step in your career?

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, medium-sized residential care home in Sandiacre, Nottingham. The home provides residential care for older people and is looking to appoint a proactive and hands-on Deputy Home Manager to support the day-to-day management of the service.

This is an excellent opportunity for either an established Deputy Home Manager or an experienced senior care professional looking to progress into their first Deputy Manager position.

The Role

Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the home, supporting both the operational and care aspects of the service.

The position is predominantly office-based and supernumerary, giving you the time to focus on care planning, staff development, compliance and the overall management of the home. However, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain a visible presence throughout the service and work closely with the care team and residents.

The client is looking for someone who understands care from the ground up and is comfortable taking a hands-on approach when required.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home

  • Maintaining and reviewing person-centred care plans

  • Supporting staff training, development and performance

  • Helping to maintain high standards of care, compliance and documentation

  • Providing leadership, guidance and support to the wider care team

  • Building positive relationships with residents, relatives and colleagues

  • Maintaining a visible presence throughout the home and supporting staff on the floor when appropriate

  • Supporting the continued development and improvement of the service

  • Participating in an on-call rota approximately every other weekend

About You

We would be keen to speak with candidates who are either already working as a Deputy Home Manager or who have progressed through care and are ready to take their first step into a Deputy Manager position.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working within an elderly residential care home

  • Experience as a Deputy Manager, Care Manager, Team Leader, Senior Care Assistant or similar

  • A Level 4 qualification in Health & Social Care would be advantageous, although experienced candidates with other relevant qualifications will also be considered

  • A good understanding of care planning and the day-to-day operation of a residential care service

  • Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills

  • A proactive, approachable and hands-on management style

  • A genuine commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care

Working Hours

The role will predominantly operate Monday to Friday, with some flexibility around start and finish times depending on the successful candidate.

There is also an on-call commitment approximately every other weekend. This is a remote telephone on-call arrangement rather than requiring you to be physically based at the home.

What’s on Offer

  • Salary up to £35,000 per annum

  • Predominantly Monday to Friday working

  • Supernumerary, predominantly office-based position

  • Opportunity for an experienced senior care professional to progress into management

  • Support from an experienced Registered Manager

  • The opportunity to play an important role in the ongoing development of a well-established residential care home

If you are an experienced care professional looking for a Deputy Home Manager opportunity where you can combine leadership, care knowledge and a hands-on approach, we would love to hear from you.
