Our client is an independently owned residential elderly care home committed to providing high-quality, person-centred care within a welcoming and supportive environment.

The owners are looking to appoint a committed and hands-on Home Manager who can bring stability, consistent leadership and clear direction to the service.

A key focus will be bringing the staff team together, establishing clear expectations and creating a positive and settled culture within the home. The successful candidate will be someone who wants to take genuine ownership of the service and become a long-term part of its future.

The owners are open to considering either an experienced Care Home Manager or an established Deputy Manager looking to take their first Registered Manager position, provided they can demonstrate the leadership ability and commitment required to successfully lead the home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the home.
  • Provide visible, consistent and supportive leadership to the staff team.
  • Bring greater stability and structure to the service, ensuring colleagues understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Develop a positive team culture built around communication, accountability and high standards of care.
  • Ensure residents receive high-quality, person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence and wellbeing.
  • Maintain compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding requirements and statutory standards.
  • Lead recruitment, supervision, training, development and performance management of staff.
  • Monitor quality assurance, audits, incidents, risk assessments and improvement plans.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and other external stakeholders.
  • Manage staffing and resources effectively while maintaining appropriate care standards.
  • Work closely with the owners, providing clear communication around the performance and ongoing development of the home.
Requirements Essential:

  • Management or senior leadership experience within an elderly residential care environment.
  • Strong people management and team leadership skills.
  • Good knowledge of CQC regulations and elderly care standards.
  • Ability to bring structure, consistency and stability to a staff team.
  • A hands-on leadership style and willingness to be visible within the home.
  • Genuine commitment to the service and an interest in developing within the role for the longer term.
Desirable:

  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Home Manager.
  • Strong Deputy Manager experience with the ability and ambition to step into a Registered Manager position.
  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Previous experience developing or realigning an established staff team.
