Starting Salary: £28,153 - £29,071 (depending on experience) + Sleep-In Payments


Atrium Associates is proud to be representing an exceptional opportunity for a Child Care Practitioner to join a specialist residential and educational setting supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs.

The Role


Working as part of a dedicated care team, you will help provide a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for children and young people, ensuring they are equipped with the life skills and confidence they need to thrive.
Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Supporting children with their daily routines and life skills

  • Working alongside the education team to promote learning and development

  • Creating a welcoming and homely environment

  • Planning and participating in activities during evenings, weekends and school holidays

  • Supporting attendance at clubs, hobbies and external activities

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with young people

  • Acting as a positive role model

  • Supporting individual development plans and personal goals

  • Encouraging emotional, social and personal development

     

About You

 

You do not need previous residential childcare experience to be considered. We are looking for individuals with the right values, attitude and desire to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people.

 

To be considered, you will need:

 

  • English Language or Literacy qualification to Level 1 standard

  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • Access to your own transport

  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people

  • The ability to work as part of a team and build strong relationships

  • Training & Development

     

Successful applicants will be fully supported to achieve the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within two years of employment if not already qualified.

 

Working Pattern

 

As this is a residential childcare setting operating 24 hours a day, the role involves:

 

  • Shift-based working patterns

  • Occasional paid sleep-ins

  • Overtime opportunities

  • Average 37-hour working week

  • Four-week rolling shift pattern

     

Sleep-in payments will typically increase annual earnings by approximately £1,500 per year.
