We are currently supporting a well-established children’s residential provider in North Devon who are looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is ready to take the next step in their career and play a key role in the day-to-day management of a children’s home.

The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home provides a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment where children and young people can thrive.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager with the overall running of the home
  • Providing strong leadership and guidance to the residential team
  • Supporting staff with supervision, development and performance
  • Ensuring care plans, risk assessments and records are maintained to a high standard
  • Promoting positive relationships and outcomes for children and young people
  • Supporting with safeguarding and incident management
  • Taking responsibility for the home in the Registered Manager’s absence
  • Ensuring the home operates in line with relevant legislation and regulations
  • Supporting Ofsted inspections and maintaining high standards of care
  • Working closely with families, professionals and external agencies

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working within children’s residential care
  • Has previous experience at Deputy Manager, Senior or Team Leader level
  • Holds, or is working towards, a relevant Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People’s Services
  • Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and children's residential regulations
  • Is confident leading and developing a team
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people
  • Can demonstrate a positive, resilient and professional approach
