The Role… Children's Residential Support Worker

As a Children's Residential Support Worker transitioning into education, you'll work within specialist SEN schools across Huddersfield, supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom. You'll help children overcome barriers to learning while encouraging positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence.

Every day is different, as you work alongside teachers and SEN professionals to create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed.

Your responsibilities may include:

- Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
- Building positive relationships with children who have experienced trauma or adversity
- Helping pupils regulate emotions using therapeutic approaches
- Supporting children with SEMH, autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and additional needs
- Encouraging engagement with learning and promoting independence
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams

You'll Be…

- An experienced Children's Residential Support Worker or Residential Childcare Practitioner
- Confident supporting children with challenging behaviour, SEMH, trauma, or additional needs
- Calm, resilient, and able to build positive, trusting relationships
- Passionate about helping young people achieve positive outcomes
- Looking to move into a rewarding education career with Monday to Friday, term-time working hours
