Are you an experienced Residential Support Worker looking to take the next step in your career?

We are looking for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join a residential children's home supporting young people who may have experienced complex trauma, emotional difficulties and challenging behaviours.

The Role

  • Provide high-quality, trauma-informed care and support to children and young people.
  • Take a lead role on shift, ensuring young people receive consistent and appropriate support.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships while providing structure, boundaries and emotional support.
  • Support young people with complex trauma, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Promote independence, confidence and positive development through daily activities and life skills.
  • Support and guide other staff members, leading by example and maintaining high standards of care.
  • Ensure care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures and records are followed and maintained.
  • Assist the management team with the smooth day-to-day running of the home.

About You

  • Previous experience within a residential children's setting is desirable
  • Experience supporting young people with complex trauma and challenging or complex behaviours is highly desirable.
  • Confident taking responsibility for a shift and supporting other members of the team.
  • Calm, resilient and able to provide consistent support in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
  • Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People/Residential Care is desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence is desirable.

Shift Pattern

This is a shift-based role and will include evenings, weekends and approximately 1 sleep-in per week.
