Integrity Education Solutions are supporting an independent SEN provider, who are seeking to appoint an Deputy Headteacher (Inclusion) within their specialist remote learning provision from January 2027.
This is a strategically important leadership position within a growing specialist provision supporting neurodiverse children and young people aged 9–25 with SEND through a therapeutic, highly personalised virtual learning model.
Working closely with the Principal and wider SLT, the successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership across the school, with specific strategic oversight of Inclusion, while helping the provision respond effectively to increasing pupil numbers and complexity of need.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the Inclusion strand, working closely with the Principal to drive school improvement, growth and whole-school development.
- Deputise for the Principal when required and contribute to effective strategic and operational leadership across the provision.
- Lead a therapy-informed, SEND-focused approach, ensuring pupils receive personalised programmes, appropriate adaptations and effective support.
- Work collaboratively with SEND, therapy and clinical professionals to ensure education and therapeutic provision is aligned and responsive to individual needs.
- Lead quality assurance within Inclusion, using data, self-evaluation and feedback to maintain high standards and drive continuous improvement.
- Line manage, develop and motivate teaching and support staff, including colleagues working remotely, with responsibility for performance management, professional development and standards.
- Support recruitment, induction and staff development as the provision continues to grow.
- Build strong partnerships with parents/carers, Local Authorities, commissioners and external agencies, ensuring communication remains effective and responsive.
- Oversee the effective deployment of staffing, timetabling and curriculum resources within the Inclusion strand, contributing to sustainable growth and capacity planning.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, ensuring the highest standards of pupil welfare and professional practice.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be an experienced senior education leader with strong SEND and inclusive education expertise and the ability to lead staff and contribute strategically within a growing specialist provision.
Applicants should ideally have:
- QTS/QTLS and degree-level education, with significant senior leadership and staff management experience.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience of supporting pupils with SEND, with experience in specialist, mainstream, independent or PRU settings.
- Experience developing personalised education programmes and a strong understanding of specialist education legislation and practice.
- Strong digital education capability, with experience of working within a virtual learning environment highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing and decision-making skills, particularly when working with families and external stakeholders.
- A clear commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, equality and the welfare of children and young people.
- An NPQ or equivalent relevant leadership qualification would be desirable.
