Are you an experienced Support Worker looking for a challenging role where every shift makes a real difference?
We are looking for Temporary Support Workers to join a Children's Secure Unit in Peterborough, supporting young people within an intense, structured and highly rewarding environment.
This is a role for someone who is calm under pressure, resilient, compassionate and confident working with young people who may present challenging behaviours.
The Role
As a Support Worker, you will help provide a safe, consistent and supportive environment for children and young people within a secure setting. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing day-to-day care, support and supervision.
- Building positive, professional relationships with young people.
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and encouraging positive behaviours.
- Responding calmly and appropriately to challenging situations.
- Following safeguarding, security and care procedures.
- Working closely with colleagues and other professionals.
- Maintaining clear and accurate records.
- Supporting young people through routines, activities and daily living.
- Working as part of a strong, professional team in a demanding environment.
Essential Requirements
- Current restraint/physical intervention training is essential.
- Previous experience working with children or young people is highly desirable.
- Experience within secure, residential, behavioural or challenging environments is advantageous.
- A calm, resilient and professional approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Enhanced DBS clearance, or willingness to undergo the required checks.
A driving licence is desirable but not essential.
