Class 1 Driver

Class 1 Driver required to start 17th August for our Client based in the Leigh area of Greater Manchester. The Role is Days Monday-Friday.

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. Duties

• Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to guarantee roadworthiness and safety standards are met
• Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, adhering to scheduled timelines and delivery instructions
• Secure loads properly, especially when handling flatbed cargo, to prevent movement or damage during transit
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs, mileage records, and inspection reports
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on the road
• Maintain a professional attitude while providing excellent customer service during drop-offs and pickups

Skills

• Proven experience as a commercial delivery driver, preferably with flatbed cargo handling
• Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards for HGV vehicles
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record and the ability to operate large trucks confidently
• Familiarity with route planning software and GPS navigation tools
• Ability to handle physical aspects of loading/unloading cargo safely and efficiently
• Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or delivery requirements
