Class 1 HGV Driver

Working Hours

• Start times generally between 05:00 and 07:00
• Typical working day of 10–12 hours
• Ongoing work available
• Work may involve different depots and routes depending on operational requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 1 (C+E) vehicle.
• Collect containers from the port.
• Complete deliveries to customer sites.
• Carry out export loads where required.
• Return containers to the port or yard.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Ensure all loads are transported safely and securely.
• Complete delivery and collection documentation accurately.
• Comply with all relevant driver hours, tachograph and health & safety regulations.
• Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach at all times.

Requirements

• Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Minimum 1 year's container driving experience preferred.
• Felixstowe Port Pass/Card – essential.
• Valid Driver CPC.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good knowledge of driver hours and tachograph regulations.
• Reliable, professional and safety-conscious.
• Physically fit and comfortable working 10–12 hour shifts.
