Class 2 Refuse and Recycling Driver - Newton Abbot

Fusion People are recruiting two Class 2 drivers for refuse and recycling collection work based at a depot in Newton Abbot. Immediate starts available.

Straight day shifts, Monday to Friday, home every night, no nights and no distance work. You will be on the same rounds each week, working with a regular crew.

The role:

• Driving a refuse collection vehicle on domestic and recycling rounds across the Teignbridge area
• Daily walkaround checks and defect reporting
• Working as part of a crew and assisting with loading
• Following the round schedule and reporting access issues or missed collections
• Safe working on residential streets, including reversing assists

What you need:

• Full UK Category C (Class 2) licence
• Valid Driver CPC card and digital tacho card
• Clean or near clean licence
• Reliable and physically fit, this is an active role in all weathers
• Refuse experience is preferred but not essential, training on the vehicle and rounds will be provided
• Own transport, the 06:00 start is before public transport runs

What you get:

• £17.51 per hour PAYE, around £647 per week before deductions
• Monday to Friday 06:00 to 14:00, finished by early afternoon
• Local work, no overnights
• PPE requirements: safety boots, hi vis, ballistic trousers and wet weather gear
