Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Cleaning Manager to oversee the delivery of safe, compliant and high-quality cleaning services across a high-profile site.

Job Overview

This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of cleaning operations, ensuring services are delivered on time, within budget and fully aligned with contractual expectations. A consistently high standard of service and attention to detail are essential in supporting a best-in-class customer experience across all areas of the site.

The Cleaning Manager will lead and develop cleaning teams and supply partners, building strong working relationships with building users and customers. You will take full accountability for operational performance, compliance and service excellence, while acting as a key point of contact for stakeholders and service escalations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise and control operational resources to deliver consistently high cleaning standards.
  • Ensure routine, periodic and planned cleaning services meet contract specifications.
  • Maintain audit-ready standards across all buildings, including oversight of reactive and specialist works.
  • Ensure compliance with KPIs, SLAs, Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
  • Manage labour deployment, workforce planning, consumables and stock inventories.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, acting as the escalation point for service issues.
  • Lead, support and develop Cleaning Supervisors and frontline teams, promoting a “One Team” culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation and service excellence across the cleaning operation.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience managing large cleaning teams within facilities management or service-provider environments.
  • Experience working within public sector or high-profile settings (desirable).
  • Confident in managing multiple stakeholders and time-sensitive operational demands.
  • Demonstrated experience in workforce planning, budget management and cost control.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, audits, risk assessments and service performance metrics.
  • Effective leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
  • High attention to detail with a calm, solutions-focused approach.
