Disability Assessor 
Nurses | Occupational Therapists | Physiotherapists



Hybrid Role
Full-time | Monday–Friday | 9am–5pm
Part time available - 3/4 days

Location: Slough

Salary: £50,000 (+ 1k at 12 months - performance based)

 
WCA assessments -5/6 a day (looks at how a person's health condition/disability affects their functional ability in relation to work-related activities)

What will you be doing? As a Disability Assessor, you will:
  • Conduct telephone and face-to-face assessments with claimants 
  • Explore how health conditions affect everyday activities and work
  • Review medical evidence and health questionnaires
  • Ask detailed questions about functional ability
  • Use your critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills
  • Produce clear, accurate and objective reports for the DWP
  • Make recommendations based on your assessment findings


What you need:
  • At least 1 year of recent post-registration experience in a relevant adult setting
  • At least 1 year of active NMC or HCPC registration
  • Strong communication and assessment skills
  • Excellent report-writing and typing skills
  • Good IT skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own caseload

  • DWP guidelines and requirements
  • Report writing
  • Functional assessment skills

You don't need previous Disability Assessor experience — your clinical experience and transferable assessment skills are what matter.
