Job Description – Operations Coordinator
Role at a glance
Hours:- 24 Hours per week, three full days, or spread across Monday to Friday by agreement
Location:- Flint, Mainly on site, with scope for some hybrid working once established
Salary:- £15.25 p/h
Contract:- Permanent, Part Time

The role
This is a hands-on role that combines purchasing, order administration and warehouse work. You will make sure customer orders are bought in, checked, packed and dispatched correctly and on time.
Over time you will take ownership of the day-to-day operational work currently handled by the Director, so that problems are picked up and solved without needing to be escalated.
For the successful candidate there will be growth opportunities.
Key responsibilities
Purchasing
- Raise purchase orders from the sales orders and check them for accuracy.
- Send purchase orders to our manufacturers with the required due dates.
- Check order confirmations against the dates and prices. Chase corrections where needed and update the system.
- Keep prices on purchase orders accurate and up to date.
Sales orders and dispatch
- Liaise with customers on product specifications and order details, working with the Directors where needed.
- Adjust and finalise sales orders so they are correct and ready to invoice before dispatch.
Warehouse
- Handle goods in and goods out.
- Carry out quality checks, pack orders for dispatch.
Technical support
- Help with pre-wiring of equipment. Training will be given.
- Cover warehouse and technical tasks during colleagues' holidays.
Continuous improvement
- Follow our established processes accurately.
- Look for better ways of working and suggest improvements. Good ideas will become part of how we work.
About you
Essential
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar role, such as purchasing, order processing, operations or warehouse coordination.
- A proven track record of solving problems and getting things right first time.
- Experience improving or correcting working procedures.
- A practical, hands-on approach, and happy to move between desk work and the warehouse.
- Sound judgement and the confidence to make sensible decisions without constant supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, especially with dates, prices and order information.
- Confident using computers, order or stock systems, and email.
- Open to trying new ways of working, and able to challenge existing methods constructively.
Desirable
- Experience with Unleashed or a similar ERP system.
- Knowledge of electrical or engineering sector.
- Forklift licence, or willing to train.
