CNC Machinist

Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting on behalf of a long-established engineering business specialising in the manufacture of high-quality precision components. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced CNC Machinist to their skilled production team.

Salary: up to £38,837.55
Shifts: Rotating Mornings & Afternoons (37.5 hours per week)
Location: Sheffield

As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting and operating both CNC and manual machines to produce precision components to customer specifications. You'll work from technical drawings and use precision measuring equipment to ensure the highest standards of quality are maintained.

• Set and operate CNC and manual machine tools
• Work from engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications
• Select and install the correct tooling, fixtures and materials
• Set machine speeds, feeds and coolant levels
• Load, run and monitor CNC programs
• Carry out trial runs and make necessary adjustments
• Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve machining issues
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, reporting any faults or defects
• Support continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing and health & safety initiatives
• Complete production documentation as required

• Minimum of two years' machining experience
• Apprenticeship or HNC qualification preferred
• Confident setting and operating CNC and manual machinery
• Strong understanding of machining principles and engineering materials
• Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
